About
In my over 30 years connected to the auto industry, there’s a disruptive wave growing around the business of automotive. Not since the development of mass production driven by the assembly line has the business of automotive been disrupted like what is upon us today. With propulsion driven by non-internal combustion engines, the development of autonomous technologies, and the creation of mobility businesses, future success in the auto industry might not be defined by which companies sell the most vehicles at the highest profit. Tomorrow’s winners could very well be those companies that profitably get us between points A and B irrespective of our vehicle ownership. The winners could be General Motors, Volkswagen or Toyota. Maybe Uber, Alphabet or Tesla could lead in this new business model. What’s not in doubt however, is the vast sums of development dollars being invested today in creating a new mobility world. These investments seem to point us to a certainty that this mobility world will definitely exist, but it might take more time to develop than some believe. The creation of TaaS Master is designed to discuss this disruption centered around the development of transportation as a service and the technologies helping to drive this new business future.
