It was reported today that autonomous vehicle software company, Aptiv, will access a $1.7 billion credit line, as well as suspend its $225 million dividend to conserve cash as part of the company’s survival plan to weather the Covid-19 economic storm. How might this virus impact the very survival of companies big and small investing in a future autonomous mobility world? Last year I posted about the vast and growing autonomous vehicle ecosystem. There are big companies like Nvidia, Intel, and Alphabet. And there are smaller companies like Aurora, Argo, and Nuro. It only seems logical that the longer the Covid-19 economic slowdown continues, the bigger chances that some companies in the TaaS space won’t survive.
