Some of the people I follow on Twitter are Tesla investors. A common trait among these Twitter Tesla investors is supreme confidence in the company and Elon Musk, along with an inherent belief that any other electric vehicle entrant or company developing autonomous vehicles ultimately will fail. In fact, many have disdain for any company entering the electric vehicle space. If a critic has a negative view of some aspect of Tesla, or an analyst dare ask a probing question during a Tesla earnings call, Twitter Tesla lights up with indignation. Does Twitter Tesla really believe that a future world of electric vehicles will only be a one-company race? Even Walmart learned to thrive in a new retail world created by Amazon. It seems logical that the future of the electric vehicle space will have more than one credible competitor as well.
